We have an opening for a reliable and experienced Design Engineer.  The successful applicants will be working on designing and engineering interior furniture for Rail, Airport, Commercial Office, and other specialised sectors.

  • Permanent, full-time position 
  • 4 day working week is in operation (Monday to Thursday 6AM to 4.30PM).
  • Starting rate of pay will be dependent on experience

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Designing concept and production 3D-CAD models of various products within the sector of Rail, Airport, Commercial Office and other specialised areas, using Solidworks.
  • Generating detailed production and assembly drawings.
  • Undertaking hand calculations to support initial design development stages. 
  • Providing necessary engineering support to production department and providing creative solution to the problems.  
  • Developing reports and documents for DFMEA, RAMS, LCC, O&M and Test Reports.
  • Ensuring ECN and MRP systems are followed throughout the product development process. 
  • Specifying and maintaining welding, bonding, testing, documents for production and approvals. 
  • You will be responsible for the product development process and will be required to liaise with suppliers/customers throughout the project. 

Necessary requirements:

  • Applicants must have a Degree in Design or Engineering.
  • Must have minimum of two-year Solidworks work experience in designing complex assemblies and parts. 
  • Minimum of two-year experience of producing technical drawings in a design job. 

Advantageous requirements:

  • Minimum of two-year experience in generating welding documentations for applicable standards and mechanical testing procedures is important.

Metal Finisher (Nights)

Baker Bellfield are looking for experienced Metal Finisher (Days) to support and enhance our metalwork team.

Responsible To: Production Manager (Metalwork)

Responsible For: Finishing of stainless steel / aluminium / mild steel parts

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work from engineering drawings, competently translating what is on paper into a high quality finished product that meets the exacting specifications.
  • Fulfill work schedules established by the Production Manager and Department Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain good, honest communication with the Production Manager, Supervisor and other team members to enable effective cooperation.
  • Maintain the quality and standard of work expected from all employees
  • Adhere to lean practice.
  • Work effectively and efficiently in teams under the direction of the Team Leader or Department Manager
  • Reduce scrap and rework.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety requirements; PPE must be worn at all times.
  • Operate the MRP system.
  • Conduct scheduled checks on machinery and inform the Team Leader of equipment maintenance needed.
  • Check all fabricated products dimensional and record information on approved documentation when required.
  • Ensure that no cross contamination of ferrous and non-ferrous materials occurs.
  • Maintain good housekeeping to avoid cross contamination.

Necessary requirements:-

  • Minimum 5 years experience finishing of stainless steel/aluminium/mild steel parts
  • Ability to read Technical DWGs

Advantageous requirements:-

  • Ability to operate data capture on MRP manufacturing system
