We offer both MIG and TIG welding for an extensive range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
In July 2018, we became one of only a handful of UK companies to be certified to EN 15085-2, demonstrating our competence for control of welding quality in the production of railway vehicles and components.
Certification for Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components (CWRVC) is being increasingly referenced by rolling stock manufacturers as a pre-requisite for those companies supplying components, assemblies and fabrications.
Computer controlled CNC machining enables the precision engineering of highly complex metal parts, quickly and efficiently, and to your specifications.
We supply machined components from various material types and grades – including carbon alloy steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Fully trained machinists have extensive experience operating our 3, 4 & 5 Axis machining centres – all featuring high capacity tool carousels, probing features, and cycle time reducing fixtures.
Assembly of metal components manufactured by us is one of our core competencies.
Our specialist team of trained technicians can undertake a variety of assembly processes to provide finished component assemblies including Rail interior products such as Luggage Towers, Luggage Racks, Draught Screens and Ceiling Panels.
DIN 6701-2 Adhesive Bonding of Railway Vehicles is a standard for ensuring quality bonding techniques are adopted in the manufacture of our rail products.
Our bonding process is compliant to DIN 6701-2:
We have a dedicated, clean, temperature controlled, Bonding Room for our working space and storage of adhesive bonding materials and supplies.
Our commitment to a continuous programme of investment in advanced manufacturing technology has proved to be the bedrock of our success over the years. This is why we chose Amada’s ENSIS 3kW Fibre Laser for our laser cutting technology.
Using variable beam control, the ENSIS can manufacture mild and stainless steel products which could only be produced using a higher powered laser source in the past. The cutting edge innovation is made possible through the modulation of the laser beam as a function of sheet thickness, changing the beam shape to suit material thicknesses and requirements.
Our laser cutting services include:-
We operate Amada HFE Press Brakes which are manually programmed and operated by CNC fold operatives. Our Press Brake machines offer:-
We can now offer tube bending services for many types of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium sections. The combination of a CNC controlled bending head and CNC feeding mechanism allows for variable radii along the length of the tube.
Our CNC Tube Bending machines offer:-
Tube laser cutting removes the need for marking out, drilling and or shaping operations traditionally carried out by skilled fabricators. They are CNC programmed using CAD models eliminating the need for costly jigs and fixtures, and enabling parts to be produced cost effectively with fewer operations, but at speed.
Our CNC Tube Laser Cutting machines offer:-
We understand that powder coating is vital to the overall quality of our products. The coatings we use are compliant to EN 45545 HL3, BS6853 Cat 1a and London Underground Approval for rail applications, and are designed to prevent corrosion, increase productivity and allow the materials to last longer. Items can be supplied with both Anti-Graffiti and Anti-Microbial to EN45545.
We are fully certified to wet paint Axalta and Mankiewicz paint systems. These paint systems are widely used on rolling stock interior products, with both being compliant to EN45545 HL3 and BS6853 Cat 1a.
